It’s a very short period of time. I suggest you get a phrase book to learn a few sentences that will make your life a little easier. And don’t forget to take a pocket dictionary.

Here you have a few ’survival phrases’

You can also hear them (Each time you click on a phrase a new audio player is opened)

I found a way of learning a TON of Spanish really quickly. Here’s a quick outline of that method. It worked pretty well for me — I was able to speak basic Spanish within two weeks.

    1. How much time do you spend in your car per week? Add it up — this is going to and from work, running errands like groceries, etc. For me, it was around 10 hours a week.
    2. GET A GOOD SPANISH AUDIO COURSE!!! I found one called “Learning Spanish Like Crazy” that had really good reviews on Amazon, and then I found out they sell the course even cheaper on their web site. (I have a link on my site.)
    3. Listen to that audio course every single time you are in your car, no matter what! If you spend 10 hours a week in your car, that’s 20 HOURS (!!) of lessons in two weeks WITHOUT having to dedicate any extra free time.
    4. Use about one hour a night and just TALK to someone you know who speaks Spanish. At first it will be very difficult, but if you spend all the time in your car listening to the audio courses, by the end of the two weeks, you will be able to hold basic conversations, I guarantee.

This is the exact method I used. I was traveling to South America and wasn’t going to touristy places, and it actually ended up working perfectly.

What I like best about this method is that it’s cheap, and it hardly uses up any of your free time!
