If you know people who speak spanish, have them speak it around you all the time. Even if you don't understand it at first, you eill begin to pick it up if you hear it. References :
This is awesome!
You just pick the languages you want to translate from and to , type in your sentences or words or phrases and hit "translat". It's fast and it's pretty good.
Have fun with it - you'll learn quicker. References : I used this site to learn all I needed to know to help Spanish speaking people that came into our Post Office.
1. Start with a basic Spanish course on CD;
2. You can also google "learn Spanish" and check out a wide range of sites who teach you Spanish for free;
3. If you're a male, and single, you may get a willing Spanish speaking girlfriend.
4. Get Spanish songs, their lyrics, and practice singing along, so that you get the language rhythm.
5. Watch Spanish programs, especially if they are subtitled.
6. Get Spanish children (preschool) books, and learn a few simple words. References :
HI, I can help you to practice, maybe i can practice english too, we could take some conversations using e-mail, MSN messenger, or maybe free phone calls using skype. So what do you think??

Total immersion is always the best way to learn a language, but unless you're made out of cash, it's not always practical. I've tried the Rosetta Stone product, which uses immersion to teach. I found it kind of boring, but I didn't really give it enough time. I'm like to hear someone else's comments on it.
