i'm a nursing major but i was wondering that if you get a liberal arts a.a degree will in spanish will it help my career? should i get it even though i already speak spanish? what do you think?
Being a Health Investigator I work close with nurses & am also bilingual….I suggest that No, it won't help…what does help is simply speaking the language….reading & writing is a plus.

It's a pretty nice addition. I was a philsophy major but had to take 6 credits of Spanish. Several times during interviews, one of the first questions they've asked is about my fluency in Spanish when they saw on my transcripts that I had taken spanish. Especially if you're interacting with a lot of different people at your job like you would be as a nurse it would be nice.

If you already speak spanish, or have a spanish sur-name al well, you probably don't need a degree. You may have to prove proficiency to your employer, but you probably won't need the paperwork to back you up. It will help you if you work in an area that has a high hispanic population.
