I learnt Spanish for a year before studying french, and it made things easier because the two languages jolt your memory (if you don't know the word in french, the spanish one might help you to remember.) So I suppose it works the other way around too.

It's easIER. spanish also has many english cognates.. i found spanish to be quite easy- without knowing french- however i did get a 2 on AP Spanish.. but i also slacked off and choked on the oral speaking section. you will have less trouble, i think.

i've been learning french for 5 years and have basic fluency now. in august i took up spanish and it is an absolute breeze.
to start with, u WILL get a little confused between certain words i.e. u'll come out with sentences half in spanish and the other half french…and u'll forget some french words but know the spanish for them.
if you can do french grammar then spanish grammar is a walk in the park, as is pronunciation (say what you see)

Yes… it's easier because both language are derivated from the latin, some pronunciations are harder becuase spanish has some rough letter pronunciation, like the "r" and some others….

I think you will find it very easy if you already know French, I learned Spanish in about 2 month. However I am a French native speaker. Spanish and French are very similar languages, but when it comes to pronuciation, there are some differences but, very easy to overcome. Good Luck!
